1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Smart Rename, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. App Functionality

Smart Rename is a productivity app designed to help users organize and access files. It helps users

Capture or upload photos, videos , PDFs, and documents
Automatically rename files with relevant context.
Organize renamed files into structured folders stored locally, with optional sync to your Google Drive.

3. Sign in with Google or Apple Account

To use the Android version of the app, you must sign in with a Google account. To use the iOS version of the app you can use a Google or an Apple account. Signing in allows the app to access:

Only basic profile information (email, name, and a unique ID (UID) provided by Google or Apple) needed to verify subscription status.

4. Folder Creation

After signing in for the first time:

The app will, with your permission, create a Master Folder on your device.
This folder is necessary to store and organize your renamed files.
Subfolders will be created inside the Master Folder based on metadata to enhance sorting and retrieval.
You retain full ownership and control over these files and folders.

5. Google Drive Integration

If Google Drive Sync is enabled, the app uses your Google Drive only to store mirrored folders of your renamed files (including photos, videos, PDFs, and documents) and essential app backup files. It does not access any other part of your Drive.

This feature is optional.
If you revoke access, syncing will stop but your local data will remain untouched.

6. Data Usage and Privacy

The app does not access, view, monitor, alter the content, or store any of your files. All it does is rename the files based on the context a user chooses.
All file operations occur within your device, and you retain full control over your files.
The data collected during sign-in, including email address, full name, and UID, is solely used for subscription validation and personalization of your app experience.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
We may collect anonymized crash data to identify issues and enhance performance. Additionally, we may anonymously track general usage patterns within the app to improve functionality.

7. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Managing your device content and storage space.
All files stored, renamed, or managed in your device.
Ensuring that you have the necessary permissions to store and modify files.
The security and privacy of your own device, the Google, Apple account and Drive content.

8. Subscription & Licensing

Smart Rename operates on an auto-renewable subscription model.
You may manage or cancel your subscription through your Google Play Store or Apple App Store account settings.
You are free to cancel the subscription at any time. On cancellation, you can continue using the app till the subscription expires.
By subscribing, you gain access to the app during the active subscription period, subject to availability and platform policies.
After expiry, app access is restricted unless renewed, but your stored data remains accessible locally or in Drive (if previously synced).
The availability of the app on the Play Store or App Store is subject to its listing status and policies of the store.
Please note that in addition to the subscription options offered through Google Play or App Store Billing, the developer may provide separate, pre-paid subscription access to organizations for distribution to their employees or members via voucher codes. These subscriptions are governed by separate agreements between the developer and the respective organizations.

9. Refunds

All purchases are subject to the refund policies of the platform provider (Google Play or Apple App Store). The developer does not handle refunds directly.

10. Limited License

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use this app for personal or professional file management purposes. You agree not to:

Modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app.
Use the app for illegal or unauthorized purposes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided ‘as is’, without warranty of any kind. The developer shall not be liable for:

Loss or corruption of data.
Direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the app.
Issues related to your Google Drive account or connectivity.
Any defects, bugs, or malfunctions in the app.
The app may not receive bug fixes, updates, or new features at any time. Users accept that the app is provided as is, and they assume all risk associated with its use. There is no guarantee of future updates, feature additions, or ongoing support.
You accept full responsibility for your data, backups, and storage.

12. Modifications and Updates

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

We may discontinue features or the app itself at any time without liability.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with Indian law. Legal matters will fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Siliguri, West Bengal.
